The personal information collected about you

Philip Morris Photography will retain data during the course of a transaction.

Retained data will include the following information:

Full name, email address, telephone number, home address including post code, payment details, shipping address, gender, date of birth

This type of data is referred to as personal data (‘data which relates to an identified or identifiable person’).

Data is also collected as a result of using the Philip Morris Photography website.

How personal data about you is used

Personal data will be collected for the purpose of fulfilling orders, and to establish the provenance of limited-edition prints (basis for use).

Information collected as a result of viewing the Philip Morris Photography website will be used to improve the user experience, more specifically allowing opportunities for design and content improvements to be identified.

Data will not be used for any purposes other than as stated.

How personal data about you is collected

Philip Morris Photography uses Google Analytics, a web-based analytics tool, to track and report on the way in which the website is used. This is done to enhance the user experience, and to ensure Philip Morris Photography is best able to match its services with client needs. Google Analytics collects information by placing ‘cookies’ (small text files) on to the device being used to view a website. Information collected by Google Analytics includes the number of visitors to the website, referring and exit pages, pages visited, the length of time spent viewing each page, and approximate geographic location of visitors. Information is summarised and anonymous.

Additionally, Philip Morris Photography uses PayPal as a payment gateway. Information is shared between Philip Morris Photography and PayPal exclusively to enable the payment process. Agreeing to complete a transaction with Philip Morris Photography using the PayPal gateway is agreeing to an ‘account connection’ (‘using your account to make payments to a merchant’).

Information shared with the payment provider includes:

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Telephone number
  • Unique payment identifier
  • Payment provider identifier

 

Sensitive data appertaining to payments is not retained.

Philip Morris Photography maintains a record of provenance detailing the initial transfer of ownership of limited-edition prints. Personal data retained in this record is limited to name and address including post code.

Data retention period

Data will be kept for the minimum period necessary for transactions to be completed, after which it is erased.

Philip Morris Photography maintains a record of sales, the purpose of which is to prove the first transfer of ownership for each limited-edition print. Over time, this record adds value to each artwork. It is a permanent document (maintained in perpetuity).

Sharing personal data

Philip Morris Photography does not make personal data available to any third parties, notwithstanding conditions disclosed in this document for the sole purpose of supporting business transactions.

Data protection measures

Technical, physical and administrative measures are used by Philip Morris Photography to ensure reasonable protection of personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, and alteration.

These measures include firewalls, data encryption and physical access controls.

Your rights regarding your personal data

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in addition to other applicable data protection laws, provides certain rights for data subjects (someone about whom data is collected).

You are entitled to request details of the data that Philip Morris Photography holds about you, and how that data is processed.

You also have the right to have any information corrected or deleted, to restrict processing, to object to processing, to prevent data sharing with third parties, and to request the transfer of data, under certain circumstances, to a third party.
